This thrilling helicopter trip offers high-rolling visitors to Cartagena fighting with the restrictions of time the chance to venture further afield and explore one of the world’s last remote, natural treasures.
The blessed Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range is a version of earth in miniature, home to almost every ecosystem on the planet: glaciers, tundra, alpine lakes, deserts, tropical rainforests, wetlands, and coral reefs.
The mountainous region shelters an incredible range of biodiversity, flora and fauna as well as the Kogui and Arhuaco, Wiwa and Kankuamo indigenous tribes — the wise, custodians of the region's incredible natural resources. These sage-like Indians refer to their homeland as ‘the mother of the earth’.
The spectacular journey includes an early morning flyover of colonial Cartagena, a dazzling passage over the Cienaga Grande de Santa Marta before flying over the Lost City, the sacred home of the Teyuna civilization or the 5th and 6th century.
You’ll land in the Kogui village of Mulkuakungui and experience a rare encounter with the sage-like tribe that maintain the spiritual and environmental balance in Colombia’s highest mountain range.
Afterwards you can explore Parque Tayrona and experience a spiritual cleansing at a special spa in Santa Marta before heading back to Cartagena re-charged and ready for anything.
