Conjunto Vallenato

Cheer your neighbours up by picking up a conjunto vallenato after the bars shut.

Formed by a group of four musicians that traditionally includes a singer with maracas, accordion player. percussion and guacharaco (a cheese grater scratched ryhthmically with a tuning fork) these groups can be found hanging out by the beach on Bocagrande or milling around the Plaza Santo Domingo in the historic centre.

Lure them back to your place with the promise of a free-flowing whisky and keep the paranda (party) going with classics by Vallenato legends Diomedes Diaz and Rafael Escalona until the sun comes up.
