Sexy Techno NYE Party
The organisers of last year's runaway New Year's Eve success are back for more in 2014 with plans for the hottest NYE party in Cartagena, Sexy Techno.
Organised by Rodo Dager and Gero Baasile, you can expect this notorious shindig to be the booziest and schmooziest of options for New Year's Eve options for 2014.
As well as the lure of a good-looking crowd, the open bar at Sexy Techno, by the same organisers of last year's runaway success, Garden of Delights, makes this celebration one of the most attractive of options for hard-drinking party animals looking to soak up the rum and fun well into the early hours.
Eat before you get there because there's nothing on the menu other than whisky, vodka, beer, rum, champagne, some ice cream and plenty of good-hearted debauchery.
We've got TWO tickets up for grabs on the This Is Cartagena Facebook Page.

New Year Mardi Gras
Bourbon Street, the biggest and brashest bar on Plaza Santo Domingo, has a prized spot for some al fresco New Year’s eve dining, live music and an open bar well into the early hours.
The owners of this popular, Louisiana-style speakeasy like to party like it's Carnival every day of the year and New Year's Eve is clearly no exception.
With balconies looking down on the Plaza Santo Domingo, the busiest of Cartagena's principal plazas on New Year's Eve this promises to be one of the biggest parties in town and a great option to soak up the unique street party atmosphere.
A pop-up seating arrangement in the main square will get you into the thick of the street party and also gets you access to all the fun taking place in the bar's upstairs area.
Enjoy an outdoor meal and the fireworks before slipping upstairs to join the festivities after midnight when there's an open bar and bands pumping out live music that will keep a young, lively crowd moving well into the early hours.
There are two options for this New Year Carnival. The first involves a three-course meal in the plaza or if you prefer to be seated upstairs with an open bar starting from midnight.
If you're sat upstairs the open bar runs from 20.00-04.00.
If you're planning on eating elsewhere then the owners are offering late-night partiers a chance to pitch up for the open bar from midnight until 04.00 for a knock-down price.

Salsa-licious Cafe Havana NYE
Cafe Havana is upping sticks for the evening for a salsa-licious night at the Convention Center, a pop-up salsa club in an immense space that will delight a twinkle-toed crowd.
What TO EXPECT
Cafe Havana is too small to host its glittering New Year's Eve lineup so the iconic salsa joint has commandeered the Convention Center for its biggest night of the year.
They are planning a Salsa-themed New Year's Eve party that promises to be one of the highlights of the season. The Toca Tus Sentidos group have been organising holiday fun for a young, glam crowd in Cartagena for ten years with their flagship party, Gavanna, throwing one of the biggest parties of the year every January.

Van, Aymee Nuviola, Los Jubiliados

Move into 2015 in style at La Movida
This riotous resto-bar knows how to throw a party and after celebrating its first anniversary in style this New Year's Eve is expected to go off
Mixing a high-octane New Year's midnight celebration in Madrid with the prospect of a New Year's Day sunrise in the Caribbean, La Movida is Cartagena's late-night option supreme throughout the rest of the year so there's little question it's annual festive celebrations won't let the side down.
La Movida's main man, Juan Pablo Borge is playing his cards close to his chest about what this year's party is going to be all about but you can be sure it will draw a familiar, good-looking crowd of Cartageneros and their mates from Bogota.
The Faces, the revelation of this year's club scene will no doubt be making an appearance with some DJ surprises thrown into the mix.Book Tickets
Cartagena Street Party
One of the best ways to bring in the New Year in Cartagena is to rock up to the myriad street parties taking place throughout the historic center of the city.
Almost every available street is overtaken by the best businesses in town. For its position in close proximity to the Plaza Santo Domingo and for the friendly staff we like the special evening organised by Palo Santo Restaurante.
To gatecrash the party that happens on Plaza San Diego you might want to start of with dinner at El Balcon, one of the friendliest restaurants in Cartagena with a terrific view of the fun and music down below.
When the party gets in to full swing we're sure the owners will be able to help you slip into your salsa spats and set Cartagena's streets on fire with your tequilla-fuelled twinkle-toes.
To get real with the locals another option is to hit Getsemani, the land of the 'pico' giant sound systems that will be blaring out salsa well into the afternoon of New Year's Day.Find a Table
