Coffee & Brunch @ Cafe Epoca
Escape to another era at Cafe Epoca, the illustrious new coffee shop in Cartagena that calls the (expresso) shots when in comes to serving the best coffee in town.
Independent cinema calls for independent coffee. Which is why we hold a soft spot for Cafe Epoca, a brand directly collaborates with 8 small farms, creating an authentic fair trade community you only wish bigger coffee chains would adhere to.
You can't rush good coffee, especially when you've got the smooth Nicolas Moya, the in-house barista, carefully crafting top-tier speciality coffees right in front of you.
He explains each step of the process as if you were picking and roasting the beans yourself, and just so happens to have been shortlisted as one of the best baristas in the world, so you’d better take notes. Trust us, your pimped up filter coffee at home will thank you for it.
It's an enriching experience and one which reinforces the wonderful depths of this national treasure, which only recently has stopped exporting the best coffee to international destinations and started savouring the tasty goods for themselves.
Grab a chair by the window, order a cup of joe and replay all your recreate your own cinematic coffee moment.

A-List Lunch at Maria
If you're looking for a special setting to impress your leading lady, Maria is a gorgeous eatery in Cartagena's historic centre that never fluffs its lines.
In the superficial world of showbiz, appearances matter.
Likewise, Maria's interiors have had a 'little work done.' Under the artistic guidance of Interior designer Maria Pinto, who not only gave her name to the venue but did an amazing job of juicing the colourful vibe of the city and giving off that 'beach house in the Hamptons' essence you normally only get when you douse yourself in a Ralf Lauren scent.
Head chef, Alejandro Ramirez, runs a smooth and supremely tasty machine, thanks to having trained with the Crème de la crème of the chef superstardom, Gordon Ramsey.
Specialising in slow cooked Caribbean recipes, locked in tongue tingling flavours and a twist of international sparkle, Maria's varied menu never delivers a turkey.
Line your stomach, before the crazy partying continues, with old time favourites such as the Angus steak with creamy plantain mash, prawn and chorizo risotto and grilled octopus. Their deliciously devilish cocktails go very well with a late night gossip of all your Ficci escapades as well.

Rub Shoulders with the Stars at La Movida
La Movida lives up to its name with an urbane play-list that keeps Colombia's soap set dancing well into the early hours.
Packed to the rafters at weekends with an effortlessly good-looking rank and file that could have been plucked from a Pedro Almodovar film, La Movida is where you will find the city's beau monde and hooked up out-of-towners moving into fourth gear with a couple of shots of Don Julio.
Punchy prices keep the penny-pinching backpackers and students at bay but you pay for the privilege of mixing your cocktails with a superior set and there's no denying that owner, Juan Pablo Borge, has created Cartagena's most sophisticated spot for some secluded celebrity shoulder rubbing.
